Solidarity brigade from Belgium and Germany visit Trinidad, in Cuba
Havana, Jul 29 (RHC) A solidarity brigade made up of young members of the German and Belgian Communist Parties toured the colonial zone of the Cuban central city of Trinidad, a World Heritage Site.
Its 48 members participated in the activities for the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks in eastern Cuba.
Since their arrival in Cuba on July 14, they have carried out an extensive exchange program with workers from different spheres and members of the youth and student movements, as well as visits to centers of production and services.
In the third patrimonial village of Cuba, leaders of the Union of Young Communists and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples were received the day before by Denis Díaz, secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in this territory and Yulieski Cristo, vice president of the municipal government.
When touring the main facilities of the historic area of the city, visitors appreciated its architectural values, and where its inhabitants have been part of the conservation for more than five centuries.
The brigade members in exchange with the population expressed their solidarity with the Cuban people and demanded the end of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States, which they pointed out as an unfair policy and against human rights.
They also learned that the town has received various international awards, including the Artisan and Creative City awarded by UNESCO.
According to the program, this Saturday the brigade will return to Havana after visiting the city of Cienfuegos. (Source: PL)
