The ambassadors of the Russian language taught for a month at the School of Foreign Languages of the University of Havana
Havana, Oct 23 (RHC) TV BRICS highlighted this Monday that Cuba received for the first time the visit of the educational expedition "Ambassadors of the Russian language in the world", from September 17 to October 13.
According to the television channel, for four weeks the ambassadors of the Russian language taught classes at the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the University of Havana and in schools in the Cuban capital, under the direction of Elizaveta Golovaja, a teacher at the Alexander Pushkin State Institute of the Russian Language.
Golovaja expressed her surprise at the interest of the students and their high level of mastery of the Russian language, and added that the volunteer group worked with all the courses.
She explained that the volunteers prepared lessons corresponding to the level of each group of students, and selected materials that not only introduced them to the culture and literature of Russia, but also helped them understand the complexities of the Russian language.
Thanks to the fact that interactive classes were held taking into account the level of language proficiency, the ambassadors were able to improve their own skills in conducting lessons both for schoolchildren who do not speak Russian and for students who speak it fluently.
Likewise, volunteers participated in an open lesson dedicated to the centenary of the birth of Rasul Gamzatov. The event was organized by representatives of the Casa Rusa in Havana and the University of Havana.
The ambassadors also taught open Russian language classes for students from the Enrique José Varona Pedagogical University.
In total, more than 330 Cuban schoolchildren and students participated in the events. The expedition was financed by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation within the framework of international cooperation. (Source: PL)
