Deputies from Cuba and Mexico strengthen ties of brotherhood

The deputies met at Havana's National Capitol, which is the headquarters of the Cuban parliament

 

Havana, Jan 29 (RHC) Deputies from Cuba and Mexico ratified the close ties between both nations, in a meeting held at the National Capitol, headquarters of the National Assembly of People's Power (parliament).

Abel Prieto, intellectual and president of the Cuba-Mexico Parliamentary Friendship Group, highlighted that the island has a relationship of friendship and brotherhood with for the Aztec nation.

He described the visit of the group of Mexican parliamentarians, led by Senator Higinio Martínez, as highly significant.

The also president of Casa de las Américas highlighted the donation made by Martínez to the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, composed of five works of art that reflect the historical leader and events of the Cuban Revolution.

For his part, Martínez pointed out that a delegation made up of senators and deputies of the Congress of the Union, as well as legislators and other leaders of the State of Mexico, carried out a fruitful program of activities in the Greater Antilles for three days.

He stressed that the delegation will return to their country with a better vision of what the island represents, the ties of friendship between peoples and how much Cuba is doing in the face of the blockade imposed by the United States.
