Havana, June 8 (RHC) -- The permanent representative of Cuba at the UN, Ernesto Soberón, reiterated to the secretary general of the United Nations, António Guterres, the complaint for the inclusion of his country on the United States terrorist list, which emerged this Saturday.

In a communication also addressed to the president of the United Nations General Assembly and the presidency of the Security Council, Soberòn transmitted the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) titled "The United States must remove Cuba, once and for all, from the list." of States that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

This text denounces this unfair inclusion and emphasizes that it is not enough to simply recognize that Cuba cooperates fully with Washington's anti-terrorist efforts.

Likewise, Soberón requests that the letter and its annex (the MINREX statement) be distributed as a document of the General Assembly, in relation to agenda item 109, and of the Security Council.

The US State Department reported that Cuba was eliminated from among the countries that, according to Washington, "do not fully cooperate" in the fight against terrorism.

For its part, the Cuban Government considered the provision insufficient, which is not equivalent to the elimination of the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, which implies serious limitations for the economic and commercial exchange of the Caribbean country.  (Source: Prensa Latina)
