The letter urges the US government to definively stop sanctions against Cuba
Havana, June 22 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez today thanked the President of Timor Leste, José Ramos-Horta, for his rejection of the US government's inclusion of the island in the list of nations allegedly sponsoring terrorism.
He also highlighted the support of the Nobel Peace Prize winner in favor of lifting Washington’s economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on the Cuban people for more than six decades.
Recently, through a letter, Ramos-Horta urged the North American government to definitively stop the sanctions against the Caribbean nation, and made a call to enter into dialogue with Cuba and normalize relations.
He also noted that, for decades, Cuba has sent tens of thousands of doctors to various countries in Africa, Latin America and Asia, thus saving millions of lives.
In recent times, even in Europe, Cuban doctors provided assistance during the worst of the Covid-19 pandemic, he stressed. (Source: PL)
