Aguada de Pasajeros, June 28 (RHC)-- The president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, visited this Friday economic centers of the Aguada de Pasajeros municipality, in the central province of Cienfuegos, in the context of the government visits that he makes to the entire country.
The Cuban president's journey began with the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) Heroic Vietnam: an entity dedicated mainly to the cultivation of sugar cane, which has fulfilled its delivery plans to the Antonio Sánchez Sugar Company for three consecutive years, reported the Presidency on the social network X.
In the exchange, the president learned that although the UBPC honors its commitments, it does not achieve historical productive yields and urged the group not to give up on this endeavor.
For this, the workers have looked for alternatives with biological products such as lebame: a biostimulant made up of microorganisms from the collection of the Cuban Institute of Research on Sugarcane Derivatives; mixed with final honey, ammonium sulfate and water.
They also develop the manual planting and cutting of sugar cane, the Presidency detailed on X.
The Cuban president also spoke with the residents of the “Perseverancia” community.
The president of the Popular Council, Teresa González, commented that the water supply, the state of the roads and the disengagement from study and work of some young people, constitute the main problems of the neighborhood where 3,500 inhabitants reside.
