Havana, July 21 (RHC)-- The president of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of Russia, Vyacheslav Volodin, arrived this Saturday Havana for a working visit.
Volodin heads a large delegation made up of other leaders of the State Duma (lower house) and the different committees of that legislative body, national television reported.
Upon his arrival at the 'José Martí' International Airport, the visitor was received by Rolando González, president of the International Relations Commission of the National Assembly of People's Power (ANPP) and the Latin American and Caribbean Parliament (Parlatino); and Jesús Mora, director of International Relations of the Cuban Legislature.
During his stay, he will hold conversations with authorities from the largest island in the Antilles, among them with the president of the ANPP and the Council of State, Esteban Lazo Hernández.
Both parliamentary leaders will follow up on the actions developed during the first half of 2024 by the Interparliamentary Cooperation Commission between the State Duma and the National Assembly; among other activities.
Volodin's visit occurs after the Third Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People's Power, in its 10th Legislature; and he will contribute to strengthening the historical, strategic and endearing relations between Cuba and Russia, especially between both Parliaments.
