Havana, August 22 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel today congratulated Cuban radio workers and the National Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) on their anniversaries through his profile on X.
On the day of Cuban Radio, a century-old force that continues to be fundamental in the vital exercise of communication, congratulations to all the radio broadcasters in the country, with the sincere embrace of someone who has always felt like a colleague of yours, the president wrote on the social network.
The Cuban leader, in another post on X, wrote, "In celebrating the six decades of the UNEAC, I remember the words of Fidel, defining the Union as: “… that renunciation of passions, that renunciation of egoisms, of personalisms and passions”, where the work of each one is the work of all. Congratulations.
This year marks the 102nd anniversary of Cuban Radio, which celebrates the first continuous radio broadcasts in the country, in an artisanal way, in 1922.
So every August 22, radio broadcasters share their birthday with the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba, UNEAC
