Cuban women highlighted in tribute to Fidel Castro in Guatemala
Guatemala City, August 23 (RHC) Cuban Ambassador to Guatemala Nazario Fernandez on Friday highlighted Cuban women on the 64th anniversary of their organization during a tribute to Fidel Castro (1926-2016).
"They are the protagonists of all that has been achieved and is yet to be achieved in our relentless march towards a better world," Fernandez stressed during the celebration of the 98th birthday of the leader of the revolution.
In the presence of professors, students, friends of solidarity, Cuban residents and a representative of the Cuban Medical Brigade at the Embassy, the diplomat affirmed that the Commander-in-Chief is alive.
The Cuban ambassador reiterated the constant demand to stop the genocide in Palestine perpetrated by the Israeli government in collaboration with US imperialism and other Western allies.
Cuba is experiencing complex times, especially due to the tightening of the criminal blockade imposed by the United States, which has been in place for more than 62 years and has not been able to overcome the will of the heroic people to develop and be masters of their destiny, he said.
During the event, renowned Guatemalan historian and Doctor of Philosophy Artemis Torres noted that Fidel Castro's ideas continue to illuminate the path of nations like ours because his thought is present.
Those who attended the event appreciated fragments of the Commander-in-Chief's speeches on Palestine, solidarity, the blockade and Cuban women. (Source: Prensa Latina)
