Miami, August 19 (RHC)-- Tropical Storm Danny is gaining strength in the Atlantic and still quite distant from populated areas, but could become the first hurricane of the season by Friday, according to U.S. weather forecasters.
Danny reached sustained winds of 85 km per hour when it was 2,235 km east of the Lesser Antilles in the Caribbean, to where it is heading at a speed of 19 km per hour, according to a report issued by the National Hurricane Center, based in Miami, Florida.
