Havana, September 14 (RHC)-- The Mexican daily La Jornada affirmed that the U.S. blockade of Cuba constitutes an historical injustice, not only against the government, but above all against the Cuban people.
An editorial Sunday's edition of the newspaper terms the blockade policy as “a draconian and unacceptable paradox,” taking into account President Barack Obama's latest move to extend for yet another year Cuba's listing on the Trading with the Enemy Act.
“Basing U.S. exchanges with Cuba, a country with which they have reestablished full diplomatic relations, on the Trading with the Enemy Act is certainly a grotesque contradiction,” said La Jornada.
The Mexican daily insisted that prolonging the lifting of the blockade policy sharply contradicts the ongoing process toward fully normalized bilateral relations between the United States and Cuba.
