Paris, December 8 (RHC)-- Cuban Science, Technology and the Environment Minister Elba Rosa Perez reaffirmed in Paris her nation's commitment to the success of the Climate Conference underway in the French capital, which hopes to reach a fair, balanced and far-reaching accord.

Speaking at the high-level segment of the conference, Perez said Cuba is fully willing to contribute to the hopes of current and future generations at the forum, which is being attended by representatives from 195 countries of the world.

The forum has made some progress, but there are still important challenges on key issues like finances, technology transfer and capacity creation, said the Cuban representative as cited by the Prensa Latina news agency.

According to the Cuban representative, there is need for strong commitment and political will to reach the accord that the world is looking for. She said that Cuba is optimistic towards the achievement of such an agreement, but it requires harder work, firmness and, at the same time, flexibility.
