Havana, January 26 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raul Castro met on Monday with Ernesto Samper, General Secretary of the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) and former President of Colombia.
Raul Castro and Ernesto Samper exchanged views on different regional and international issues, while the Cuban president referred the public statements by the UNASUR general secretary against the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade of Cuba as well as his positive stance about the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Havana and Washington.
Samper was accompanied by Ana Maria Serrano, head of UNASUR Communications Secretariat. Acting Cuban Foreign Minister Marcelino Medina also took part in the meeting.
