Havana, February 12 (RHC)-- Pope Francis arrived at Havana's José Martí International Airport at 2 p.m. local time on Friday for a brief stopover on his way to Mexico.
He was received at the airport by Cuban President Raúl Castro, Cuban Cardinal Jaime Ortega and other high-ranking government officials and representatives of the Catholic Church.
Shortly after his arrival, Pope Francis met at the airport with the Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Church -- an historic meeting and the first-ever between the leaders of the two religious denominations.
