The Camagüey Ballet will dance the classic Don Quixote in the Cuban capital on June 6, 7, 8, choreographed by Magdeburg Ballet Artistic Director, Gonzalo Galguera.
Cuba’s Gonzalo Galguera won the first Iberian American Choreography Prize in 1998 with the sponsorship of the General Spanish Authors and Editors Society and the Cuban National Ballet Company. Camagüey Ballet Director, Regina Balaguer, described the Germany based choreographer and director’s version of Don Quixote as joyful and fresh.
The company from the eastern city of Camagüey is dedicating all its shows to the Father of Cuban Ballet, late maestro Fernando Alonso, who turned the Camagüey Ballet into an international dance ensemble and structured it the way it is today.
