Cuban singer, composer, and producer Descemer Bueno is making headlines again, this time for his concert Friday evening on the historic steps to the University of Havana, dedicated to Cuban youth and to the new school year here in Cuba.

Born 1971, in Old Havana, Descemer's first professional gigs were playing bass with one of Cuba’s greatest, revered troubadours --the late Santiago Feliú.

Bueno has produced, arranged, and composed music for many young Cuban musicians including Haydée Milanés, William Vivanco, and Yusa.

Descemer Bueno is currently working on his second solo album, entitled 'Cuerpo y alma' and on producing an album for rising Cuban star Diana Fuentes.

The Cuban singer/songwriter has also worked with foreign musicians, including Enrique Iglesias. He gave Enrique his song "Bailando" that has appeared in Iglesias' new album. The song became an international hit by Enrique Iglesias featuring Descemer Bueno and the Cuban group Gente de Zona, and in some versions Sean Paul, or others.

In statements to reporters prior to Friday's concert, the famous Cuban musician said playing at the 50 meter-wide steps to the University of Havana is a dream come true.
