Baseball team announced for the U-23 Pan American Championship

Havana, November 16 (JIT) - The National Baseball Commission announced on Wednesday the roster that will represent Cuba in the upcoming Pan American competition to be held in Managua, Nicaragua.

The competition, scheduled for November 24-30, will offer four spots for the world championship to be held in China next year.

Two catchers, seven infielders, four outfielders and 11 pitchers make up the team under the command of Santiago's Eddy Cajigal.

Catcher Andrys Perez, starter Guillermo Garcia, shortstop Christian Rodriguez, outfielder Carlos Monier and infielders Randy Cueto and Miguel Neira are among the best-known players on the roster.

THE TEAM

Catchers (2): Andrys Pérez García and Leonardo Montero Alfonso.

Infielders (7): Euclides Edgar Pérez Chiang, Guillermo García García, Christian Rodríguez García, Jean Lucas Baldoquín Martínez, Xiam Vega Urrutia, Adrián Jesús Pérez García and Yulieski Miguel Remón Tejeda.   

Outfielders (4): Dairon Leonel Blanco Colás, Alejandro Javier Escobar Martínez, Darián Palma Fonseca and Carlos A. Monier Torres.

Pitchers (11): Dorvis Lornet Navarro Queralta, Alex Daniel Guerra Garcés, Randy Cueto Pérez, Rafael Orlando Perdomo Eizméndiz, José Isais Grandales Rodríguez, Osdanis Rodríguez Obregón, Miguel Alejandro Neira Mendoza, Orisbel Borges Pérez, Naikis Piedra González, Reynaldo Ariel Álvarez Domínguez and Albert Valladares Sánchez.

Manager: Eddy Cajigal García.
