Lausanne, Switzerland, June 26 (PL) - Cuban diver Anisley Garcia, double Central American champion in the 10-meter platform, received her ticket to the Olympic Games in Paris, World Aquatics announced.

Garcia, ranked as first reserve in the list of the International Swimming Federation (FINA), joined her teammate Prisis Leidys Ruiz, who received a few days ago the approval of the entity to attend the summer event.

With this confirmation, the Cuban delegation, which aspires to be among the top 20 nations in the overall medal count, reaches 47 athletes with less than 30 days left for the start of the event under the five rings.

The 22-year-old, in the midst of her happiness, confessed to the digital media Jit that she was looking forward to this news and that it was a dream come true that she had longed for since she started in the sport.

"Now I just have to keep preparing myself as I have been doing so far to achieve a good result and enjoy the experience to the fullest," said the diver from Havana, who will soon compete in Italy at the Bolzano 2024 Diving Meeting.

The last time Cuba was represented in Olympic diving was in London 2012, when the duo of José Antonio Guerra and Jeinkler Aguirre finished fifth in the synchronized platform diving.
