Nassau, September 4 (RHC)-- The death toll in the Bahamas rose to 20 on Wednesday night after Hurricane Dorian devastated the string of islands.  The United Nations said 70,000 people are in immediate need of aid.  Many on the ground say that the devastation in many communities is total.

The Miami-based National Hurricane Center's latest track continues to show the dangerous core of Hurricane Dorian approaching the coast of South Carolina Thursday morning near Charleston, and then traveling along the coast through the Carolinas into Friday.

Landfall could occur Friday anywhere in the Carolinas.  The NHC warned “it should be noted that the track is close to and almost parallel to the coast of the southeastern United States, and any deviation to the left of the track could bring the center onshore anywhere in the Carolinas.”
