Trump's national security adviser tests positive for coronavirus

Washington, July 28 (RHC)-- U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser Robert O'Brien has tested positive for the novel coronavirus, the White House has confirmed.

The White House said that O'Brien has mild symptoms and "has been self-isolating and working from a secure location off site," adding: "There is no risk of exposure to the President or the Vice President" and that the "work of the National Security Council continues uninterrupted."

The White House staff is regularly tested for the virus.  O'Brien is the most senior official to be found positive amid the pandemic.  Bloomberg News reported that O'Brien had contracted the virus at a family event, citing unnamed sources.
