Caracas, October 22 (RHC)-- Venezuela's Vice President, Delcy Rodríguez, rejected Thursday the presence of U.S. Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, in Colombia.  "It is regrettable that U.S. Secretary of State Blinken is in Colombia.  It is clear that he is planning aggressions against Venezuela," denounced the Venezuelan vice president.

Delcy Rodríguez emphasized that Blinken must explain to his people the way in which Colombia, under Duque's administration, increased cocaine production.  "Colombia has gone through 245,000 hectares for coca production, which represents an increase of more than 1,000 tons," she added.

"Colombian paramilitarism dominates almost 75 percent of Colombian territory (...) Blinken must be accountable to the American people for the massacres against social leaders and murders of Venezuelan migrants," noted Delcy Rodríguez.

Likewise, the vice president highlighted the advances in the cooperation agreements between Venezuela and Cuba.   "Both peoples demonstrate what solidarity and brotherhood should be," she added.

The visit of the U.S. Secretary of State to Colombia comes at a time when Caracas and Bogota reopened their borders for trade issues, as well as a rapprochement to the dialogue between the Venezuelan Assembly and the Colombian Congress.

This Thursday, the Venezuelan Assembly confirmed the creation of a parliamentary commission to work together with the Colombian Congress in order to reestablish relations between both nations.
