Brasilia, May 29 (RHC)-- President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva is hosting a meeting with 10 other presidents of South American countries at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in Brasilia.

The heads of state of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela are in Brazil for the meeting.

The only absence among the presidents will be that of Peru, since Dina Boluarte will not be able to attend the meeting due to internal legal impediments.  Alberto Otárola, President of the Council of Ministers, will take her place.  French Guiana will not participate because it is an overseas territory of France.

Meanwhile, the Chilean Foreign Ministry confirmed that President Gabriel Boric will participate, together with Foreign Minister Alberto van Klaveren, in the South American summit promoted by his Brazilian counterpart, Lula da Silva, which will once again promote regional integration and cooperation.

Local Chilean media reported that Boric will meet with his Brazilian counterpart, and the foreign minister will hold meetings with several foreign ministers of the region, among them Peru's Ana Cecilia Gervasi.
