Caracas, September 6 (Xinhua-RHC), -- Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro, on Friday presided over the delivery of 760 new houses in Ciudad Tiuna in the capital of Caracas, which were built by China International Trust and Investment Corporation.

"We are now carrying out one of the dreams of Commander Hugo Chavez. The dream of delivering a home to hundreds of Venezuelan families, for them to live in with strength and love," Maduro said at the house-delivery ceremony.

Maduro also said that "to build socialism at the territorial level is to improve the country's infrastructure and develop a new lifestyle. We have to combine all the efforts to consolidate the revolutionary process in the Bolivarian nation."

As part of the Housing Venezuela Great Mission, Ciudad Tiuna was a project announced by deceased President Hugo Chavez in 2010 to build some 40,000 houses under agreements with several Asian and European countries.

In January 2011, Venezuela signed agreements with China, Belarus, Russia, Iran and Portugal to build low-cost homes in Ciudad Tiuna. The first batch of 3,700 houses were delivered in 2012.

Maduro set the goal of delivering 13,072 houses in the next stage when he became president in 2013.
