Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador

Mexico City, Aug 7 (RHC) Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador on Monday denied accusations by the Electoral Tribunal that he used gender violence against Broad Front presidential candidate Xochitl Galvez and sanctioned him.

The judges forbade him to name that person or refer to her in any way, and to download from the networks the part of four press conferences where he allegedly uses gender violence against her.

The chief of state presented videos of the moments in question of the conferences to compare what he said and what was pointed out by the judges who, he assured, were capable of altering his words. What judges and referees they have in that electoral court," he exclaimed.

He said that such misrepresentation is really serious, but to which court do I go? and immediately said that, knowing that he would not achieve anything by that means, he could request an impeachment and that he has the elements to do so, but he is not going to do it so that there will be no martyrs.

For all these reasons, he explained, the need for an electoral reform that does not allow them to continue lying to the people, and that the parties and the economic and political power mafia continue manipulating the Judicial Power.

He called on the people to continue the battle to establish democracy so that what happened in the past with governments integrated to the oligarchy with a democratic facade, pretending that there was one, will no longer happen.

He explained that transformation is to put into practice changes that take time and sometimes progress is slow, but the important thing is to move forward in the purification of public life. (Source: PL)
