Bogota, May 11 (RHC)-- The President of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, requested this Friday an international arrest warrant against the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, in view of the maintenance of the genocidal military offensive ordered by his Government on the Gaza Strip.

“Netanyahu will not stop the genocide.  Which implies an international arrest warrant from the Criminal Court,” the Colombian president wrote in his account on X.   Likewise, the Colombian president stated that "the Security Council must begin to consider the establishment of a peace force in the territory of Gaza."

The Colombian president has presented a firm position regarding Tel Aviv's bombings of the Gaza Strip.  On May 1st, during a massive event in Bogotá for International Workers' Day, he announced the breaking of relations between his country and Israel.

“The world could be summed up in one word that vindicates the necessity of life: Gaza.  It is called Palestine, it is called the boys, girls and babies who have died dismembered by bombs,” the president declared during his speech.
