U.S. occupation forces in eastern Syria are guarding a gasified Conoco installation

Beirut, October 23 (RHC)-- A barrage of rockets has reportedly targeted a military base used by the occupying American forces in eastern Syria.  Lebanon’s al-Mayadeen television reported on Tuesday that six rockets were fired at the U.S. occupation base at the Conoco gas field in Deir Ezzor, eastern Syria.

A field source told al-Mayadeen that four rockets out of six successfully hit their targets inside the military base at the Conoco gas field in the countryside of Deir Ezzor.  The source also confirmed loud explosions inside the US military base.  The source said the rockets targeted the Conoco gas field base radar station.

Shortly after this al-Mayadeen reported that the US forces conducted strikes against seven villages east of the Euphrates River, which are under the control of the Syrian government.

These villages were targeted -- Hatla, Marat, Khasham, and the outskirts of Huwaijat Saker and Huwaijat al-Muray'iya in the Deir Ezzor countryside.

Iraqi resistance forces have conducted dozens of strikes on the US-run military facilities in both Iraq and Syria amid growing anti-US sentiments in the region over Washington’s support for Israel’s ongoing genocide in Gaza.

There are nearly 2,500 American troops in Iraq and some 900 in Syria as part of what Washington claims to be a fighting force against Daesh.  The U.S. has maintained its presence in the two countries even though the Arab countries and their allies defeated the Takfiri terrorist group in late 2017.

Sunday’s attack came shortly after the US occupation forces conducted an airborne assault on the village of Shanina in Syria’s northern Raqqah Province, killing four Syrian ranchers and injuring a woman.

The United States regularly conducts airstrikes in Syria under the pretext of "fighting terrorism."

Damascus has written numerous letters to the United Nations, calling on the world body to put an end to US aerial assaults and its military presence in the Arab country.
