Mexico City, November 15 (RHC)-- The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum responded, this Thursday, to the ambassador of the United States, Ken Salazar for his statements against the government of Andrés Manuel López Obrador in matters of security.

Sheinbaum accused Salazar of incurring in “disparities.”  “First he declares one thing and then another,” stated the head of state and added: “Mexico is an independent, sovereign country and there will be no subordination.”

In Sheinbaum's words, “There is coordination and there will continue to be coordination”, this in response to Salazar's statement where he affirms that there are obstacles in Mexico's anti-narcotics policy.

“With the U.S. government we coordinate, we work together, but there is no subordination. It is a different relationship, of equals, between two independent, sovereign countries,” Claudia Sheinbaum asserted.

“There has to be consequence, there has to be logic in the statements one makes,” she reaffirmed.
Ken Salazar was requested by the Mexican Foreign Ministry, after declaring that AMLO's security policy, known as “Abrazos y no Balazos” (Hugs not Bullets), was a failure.  In addition, he said that there was lack of coordination and obstacles on the part of Mexico in security matters.
