Caracas, November 26 (RHC)-- The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has denounced the terrorist plans that have recently been revealed against Venezuela, specifically in the state of Zulia, under the name "No to Christmas" -- orchestrated by sectors of the Venezuelan extreme right.

During his intervention in the program Con Maduro +, the president affirmed that it is a bloody conspiracy of the mafia powers from Zulia, with the participation of the opposition María Corina Machado.

“It has been a great blow to a plan that combines a bloody, brutal conspiracy of the mafia and corrupt powers from Zulia.  The conspiracy is made from Colombia with drug trafficking groups and paramilitary groups with the presence of this lady María Corina Machado,” he stressed.

In this regard, he detailed that Machado was in Colombia for several weeks, meeting in numerous places in that country with figures of paramilitarism and drug trafficking, linked to former presidents Iván Duque and Álvaro Uribe Vélez.

Maduro specified that Machado met at least twice with Mr. José Enrique Rincón, who is the head of the economic mafias of Zulia, economic head of the conspiracy and is currently a fugitive from justice.

“He is the head of one of the surnames of Zulia, of economic power.  What can I say? That this man amassed his wealth by being connected to the State.  He is a beneficiary of credits and benefits that were given to them by the State for almost 15 years, and has achieved a sort of monopoly of the economic power of Zulia and other places in the country,” he said.

Regarding the meetings he held with Machado, he said that their plans were to kill, plant bombs, destroy gas and oil installations.  “They were in a state of delirium full of violence, hatred, revenge,” he said, and stated that Rincón’s two sons are also full of the fascist hatred that is felt towards the working class.

“It has been an impeccable work of investigation, intelligence, with national investigation and that is in full development. We alerted the people of Zulia and Falcón, as well as the people of Venezuela itself, because the people are the protagonists of this battle,” Maduro said.

For his part, Diosdado Cabello, Minister of the Interior and Justice of Venezuela, pointed out that the mercenaries mostly entered through the state of Aragua and were going towards the southern area in the Amazon.

“We captured a person in Zulia state, and after interrogations the relations between this detainee and those from Aragua state came to light,” he said.

Names were thrown around that were consistent in both investigations: “they had companies, they provided services.”

“A plot of conspiracy and corruption,” said Diosdado Cabello.   “When the investigation began in the Mayor's Office of Maracaibo, the plot of corruption and conspiracy was revealed, which led us to names like Luis José Enrique Rincón and his relationship with judges, prosecutors, businessmen, retired and active military personnel,” said Cabello.
