Gaza City, April 14 (RHC)-- Patients in north Gaza have nowhere to go after Israeli attack on al-Ahli Hospital.   Razan al-Nahhas, an emergency doctor working in central Gaza, says the al-Ahli Hospital was the only partially functioning hospital in the region and had been seeing large numbers of patients daily before Israel’s latest attack.

Al-Nahhas, who previously spent three weeks at the al-Ahli Hospital, said the facility has the only CT scanner in north Gaza and often receives patients from “mass casualty” attacks.

“Oftentimes we are caring for patients on the floor in the courtyard outside, but we were doing our best with what we had.  Now, with this attack on the hospital, it’s basically put the hospital out of service and it really does not leave any options for patients. There’s nowhere for them to go,” she said.

Al Nahhas said her colleagues at the hospital have told her that the Israeli attack has damaged “the lab, the pharmacy, the emergency department, all the oxygen tanks.”

She added: “It’s quite horrific, and it’s really left the people in that region with no place to go at this point.  And it’s an area that the surrounding areas are very heavily targeted, unfortunately.”
