Montevideo, November 5 (RHC-PL) -- Uruguayan presidential candidates Tabaré Vázquez, of the governing Broad Front (FA), and Luis Lacalle of the opposition National Party (PN), resumed on Tuesday parallel campaigns, with a view to the second round balloting on November 30th.
In the first round on October 26th, former President Vázquez won almost 48 percent of the votes while Lacalle was second winning 31 percent. Political sources highlighted that the candidates represent two country projects, very different options and paths.
The leadership of both political groups announced tireless tours of the countryside and mass meetings in Montevideo and other cities.
With the motto "For Consolidating a Progressive Cycle," Vázquez will also give lectures about culture, environment, education, innovation, climate change, coexistence and social integration.
The Broad Front activists will carry the Uruguayan flag, together with that of the governing coalition next weekend, in a national period of mobilization, with door-to-door visits and tours of neighborhoods.
The PN candidates, under the motto "Uruguay United by the Positive" will also visit several cities in departments of the northern and central-southern coastline.
