Caracas, July 15 (RHC)-- Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro received from the head of Parliament, Diosdado Cabello, the document approved unanimously by the legislature in support of the territorial claim on Guyana, which manages the government of the South American country. Diosdado Cabello went to Liceo Andres Bello in Caracas, where the head of state transmits his program “En Contacto con Maduro” to deliver the text supported by 167 lawmakers, regardless of their different political views, about the rights of Venezuela. Venezuela's claim on that territory is endorsed by the United Nations, after signing the Geneva Agreement in 1966, which states that the Essequibo should not be exploited as an area under dispute. Venezuela has reported that the government of Guyana has violated the Geneva Agreement and on more than 15 occasions and granted concessions to foreign companies, the latest being U.S. oil giant Exxon-Mobil.
