Caracas, October 13 (PL-RHC)-- Members of Venezuela's indigenous peoples paid tribute to the late President and leader of the Bolivarian Revolution Hugo Chavez, in recognition of his efforts for their full social inclusion.

The ceremony, held at the Cuartel de la Montana, where Chavez' remains are interred, was attended by Wayu leader Aloha Nunez and the Minister for Indigenous Peoples' Affairs, Clara Vidal.

The objective of the event, included among the activities to mark The Day of Indigenous Resistance, was to appreciate the work of the late president for the defense of these groups and their rights.

The members of the indigenous peoples are expected to assess the system of laws and measures implemented in Venezuela since 1999 to preserve their traditions.
