Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Says Exchanges with Holland Fruitful

Havana, January 8 (RHC)-- The Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez has declared his exchanges with his Dutch counterpart, Frans Timmermans, as fruitful.

The high Cuban official said that his country highly regards the talks in Havana with the visiting Dutch official as well as the new stage of mutual relations that it has opened.

Bruno Rodriguez said that Cuba is ready to maintain with Holland a constant dialogue on areas of common interest.

He thanked the Dutch vote at the United Nations against the economic, commercial and financial trade that the United States maintains against Cuba, as well as the application against the Island of extraterritorial laws and the curtailment of the right of Cuba to free trade.

The ongoing process of economic updating in which Cuba is now involved offers ample opportunities for the participation of Dutch economic concerns, the Cuban official said.

Dutch Foreign Minister Timmermans thanked the information from his Cuban counterpart and noted that Dutch interests will be interested in this new opportunities.

He also voiced his admiration for the beauty of Havana’s colonial area and the way it is being kept and preserved.

Cuba is a meeting point between Latin America and Europe, and I think that the dialogue between Holland and Cuba is very important for both regions, the Dutch Foreign Minister stressed.

Also, the visiting head of Holland's Foreign Ministry hailed the participation of Cuba as home of the ongoing dialogue in support for a solution to the armed conflict in Colombia.
