Havana, April 21 (RHC-ACN) -- New proposals aimed at achieving a sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture, as well as signing letters of understanding for possible academic exchanges, characterized the III International Congress of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture.
The event that concluded Friday at the Palace of Conventions, in Havana, made it possible to lay the foundations for the realisation of several projects and the implementation of new studies linked to the improvement of the Cuban agricultural system.
During three intense days of debate, more than 180 delegates from 15 countries discussed urban agriculture and the protected areas system, proposals for the diversification of fungi in Cuba, control of crop quality and seed conservation, cultivation of edible fungi, and fungal diversity of the soil and its use in the management of nematodes.
In Cuba, the achievements in Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture are modest, however, they lay the foundations for advancing food production, through an optimum use of natural resources.
