Havana, May 29 (RHC)-- Cuban President Raúl Castro met Sunday in Havana with the top commander of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) Timoleón Jiménez.
The FARC leader concludes his stay in Cuba, the country that for five years served as guarantor and venue of peace dialogues between the FARC –the country's largest guerrilla organization-- and the Colombian government of President Juan Manuel Santos.
During the exchange, the Cuban leader renewed the Cuban government's commitment to continuing its support for the Colombia peace process and contributing to the implementation of the accords that emerged from the peace negotiations in Havana.
Speaking on behalf the FARC-EP membership, Timoleón Jiménez expressed their eternal gratitude to Cuba for its contribution to efforts toward ending over fifty years of internal conflict in Colombia.
