Mexico and Cuba Vow to Strengthen Cooperation in Fisheries

Mexico City, February 7 (RHC) -– Mexico and Cuba have agreed to step up cooperation in the sphere of fisheries and aquaculture during the 25th Meeting of Fisheries Authorities, held in Mexico City.

The meeting was chaired by Mexico's Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock, Rural Development, Fisheries and Food, Enrique Martinez, and the Cuban Food Industry Minister, María del Carmen Concepción.

According to Prensa Latina News Agency, both sides stressed the significance of the meeting, saying it marks a new phase in bilateral cooperation in this field. They also reaffirmed their willingness to further strengthen contacts and exchange of experiences and technology.

The meeting comes after a recent visit to Havana by Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto, who vowed to expand relations and collaboration with the Caribbean island in all areas.
