Havana, April 26 (RHC)-- Cuba and the Pan American Health Organization have signed an agreement that will allow the Caribbean nation to acquire medicines, vaccines, syringes and other supplies for health care.
The representative in Havana of the Pan American Health Organization, Cristian Morales, said Cuba was thus joining the Revolving Fund for Vaccine Procurement and the Strategic Fund for medicines procurement managed by the continental entity, an action that he described as a major development.
The fund is destined for acquisition of 150 products used in the treatments of HIV, malaria, tuberculosis and cardiovascular diseases, as well as other essential health-care items.
The agreement between Cuba and the Pan American Health Organization was signed in the context of the 3rd International Health Convention going on in Havana.
