Quito, April 30 (RHC)-- A new solidarity with Cuba group has been created in the Ecuadorian province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, under the umbrella of the National Coordinating Board for Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba.
The official ceremony was presided over by Cuba's ambassador in the Andean nation, Rafael Dausá and the president of the National Coordinating Board for Friendship and Solidarity with Cuba in Ecuador José Regato.
Addressing those present, Regato said: “For us, it is important to always renew and strengthen our solidarity with the Cuban people and their Revolution.”
The Cuban ambassador thanked all solidarity with Cuba activists in Ecuador, whom he said support the causes of the Cuban people.
The senior Cuban diplomat also took the opportunity to update Ecuadorian solidarity activists on the recently held general elections, which resulted in the election of a new parliament, council of state and president.
“Changes in Cuba will always be toward more Revolution, toward improving our socialist society,” he said.
During the ceremony to inaugurate a new solidarity with Cuba group in Ecuador, those present condemned Washington's nearly six decade-old blockade policy toward the Caribbean state, deemed as the main obstacle to Cuba's development.
