Cuban Customs thwart drug trafficking attempt

Havana, August 9 (RHC)-- Customs authorities at Havana's 'José Martí' international airport have thwarted the 17th case of drug-trafficking attempt so far this year.

Personnel from the Analysis Department and officials who carry out the check with a specialized radiological device prevented the entry into the country of 36 capsules of liquid cocaine.

The drug had been ingested by a foreign passenger whose identity was not revealed.

In making the announcement, the official  website of the General Customs of the Republic, said that the new case illustrates' the commitment of this institution to preserve the borders of the country.
