Diaz-Canel visits Sancti Spiritus to oversee implementation of measures

Havana, September 26 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz Canel Bermúdez is in the central  province of Sancti Spíritus this Thursday overseeing the measures taken in that territory in response to the energy crisis deriving from the fuel shortage provoked by the United States.

During the meeting, Diaz-Canel exchanged with local authorities on the main organizational decisions adopted that impact key sectors such as transportat, food production, community hygiene, agriculture, water supply, education, health,  and electricity supply to the state sector, among others.

The search for alternatives for the distribution of food, including the transfer of milk; the increase of fisheries in the Zaza dam, currently with very low levels of stored water; the recovery of ovens that can work with firewood; the readjustment of some schedules are among the initiatives adopted in Sancti Spíritus.

During his appearance in Round Table TV program last September 11, Díaz-Canel himself offered details of the situation created in the nation as a result of the persecution by the United States government of the tankers in charge of bringing the fuel acquired by the country. The following day he started a tour of the island´s 15 provinces to oversee the implementation of the measures and local initiatives to paliate the fuel shortage.
