Quito, November 18 (RHC)-- The former governor of the Ecuadorean province of Esmeraldas, Paola Cabezas, publicly thanked the Cuban Medical Brigade for its work, as part of the agreement maintained for years between the two governments and recently finalized by Ecuador.

“Professionals from all branches came here to give us knowledge and to give everything for these people, who needed and still need you,”  said the militant of the Citizen's Revolution Movement in a message sent to Cuban professionals through Prensa Latina news agency.

This is not a goodbye, it is a see you soon,' she said.

Cabezas added that the unity of our peoples surpasses any bad intention of a government or of a leader who does not foresee all the positive things contributed by the specialists of the Caribbean island in this Andean nation and the rest of the region and the world.

The former governor sent an embrace to the members of the Cuban brigade.

“We have no more words to say to you but thank you.  Thank you for your affection, for your dedication, because you were in places where many of us did not go.  You were in the mountains, with sunshine, with cold, with hunger many times, and that is what makes you different," she said.

Last week, the government minister of Ecuador, María Paula Romo, announced the decision by the Government to terminate and not renew the six agreements signed with the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba after more than 25 years of collaboration from the Caribbean archipelago with the people of this South American country.
