Havana, September 7 (RHC)—This Monday, Cuba recalled with gratitude the U.S Reverend Lucius Walker (1930-2010), founder of the organization Pastors for Peace, on the 10th anniversary of his death.

As part of the tributes, the Cuban Institute of Friendships with the Peoples, ICAP, recalled in a tweet that Reverend Walker traveled through hundreds of U.S. cities in defiance of the blockade laws to bring tons of deficit products to Cuba in the 1990s, after the demise of socialism in Eastern Europe, amidst the tightening of Washington's siege.

Walker, whose ashes rest in Havana in compliance with his wishes, aroused the island's population's affection for his permanent solidarity and the defense of the right of Cubans to self-determination.

The Cuban Mission to the UN tweeted, "Thanks dearest friend, for all your support and courage. You h

ave a special place in all Cuban hearts."
