Havana, December 4 (RHC)--The people of the eastern city of Santiago, representing all of Cuba, placed a floral offering on December 4 in front of the monolith where the ashes of the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, have rested for four years in the Santa Ifigenia cemetery.

Lazaro Expósito and Beatriz Johnson, first secretary of the Cuban Communist Party and governor of the territory, respectively, and other leaders of political, social and mass organizations headed the tribute.

For engineer Leonardo Fernández, Fidel's example and thought endure in most Cubans' daily actions, who defend the principles of humanism and solidarity ratified by health professionals during this year in the confrontation with COVID-19 inside and outside the archipelago.

In a context marked by the intentions of destabilizing the Revolution from within, with the financing and support of the United States government, Fernández assured the Cuban News Agency that the young people will not disappoint Fidel's legacy, which allowed him to train as a professional in the classrooms of the Universidad de Oriente, at no cost, and enjoy a dignified life, impossible in times of the neo-colony.
