Perceptible Earthquake in Santiago de Cuba and Granma

Havana, June 3 (RHC), -- An mild earthquake struck the eastern Cuban provinces of Granma and Santiago de Cuba on Monday, the National Seismological Service reported.

The seism, with a strength of 3.5 degrees in the Richter scale, ocurred on Monday at 11:12 am, and its epicenter was located at 19.89 North Latitude and the 76.23 West Longitude, 20.6 kilometers southeast of the town of Chivirico, Santiago de Cuba.

There were perceptiblity reports in the Guamá and Santiago municipalities in the province of Santiago de Cuba, while inhabitants of Caney de Las Mercedes, Bayamo, Guisa and Jiguaní in the province of Granma also felt the quake.

There are no reports of human or material damage.
