Sao Paulo Forum to discuss Cuba's experience against Covid-19

Havana, March 24 (RHC)-- A virtual meeting to analyze Cuba's strategy against Covid-19 will bring together members of the Sao Paulo Forum (FSP) and experts from the Caribbean nation.

The meeting, scheduled for the 25th, will be attended by FSP executive secretary, Mónica Valente, Cuban Public Health Minister, José Ángel Portal, and Biocubafarma president, Eduardo Martínez.

According to the meeting's schedule, the general director of the Finlay Vaccine Institute, Vicente Vérez, and the head of the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, Marta Ayala, will also participate. These institutions lead the research on vaccine candidates in the Caribbean country.

One of the event's goals is to denounce the effects of the U.S. blockade and its intensification amid the pandemic and analyze Cuba's biotechnological development and progress of its vaccine projects.

It will also assess the results of the medical brigades of the Henry Reeve International Contingent Specialized in Situations of Disasters and Serious Epidemics in confronting the pandemic in more than 40 countries and territories.

The event will be broadcast live on the Facebook page of the Union of Young Communists of Cuba, @UJCuba, while on Youtube it will be broadcasted on the channels TV PT in Portuguese; International Week of Anti-Imperialist Struggle, in English; and the channel of the São Paulo Forum in French.
