Havana, May 28 (RHC)-- Cuba denounced that the U.S. State Department officials met online with people who promote subversion inside the island.

According to the national news aired Thursday, the head of the Cuba Program of the National Democratic Institute of that northern nation, Karla Velásquez, helped arrange the meeting last Tuesday, May 25, and sent the questions or topics to be discussed at the event.

According to Velásquez, this online dialogue between Washington and Cuban counterrevolutionaries would address bilateral relations, U.S. policy towards the island, human rights, and democracy.

The Cuban television also showed links between the Argentina-based Center for the Opening and Development of Latin America (CADAL) and groups that promote provocations against the social order on the island.

The Argentinian newspaper Página12 has denounced that CADAL functions as a base of the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operations against the Cuban government.

The report showed an e-mail from the director of this Center, Gabriel Constancio, addressed to the counterrevolutionary Tania Bruguera, an arts graduate from the island, where he acknowledges his links with these subversive groups in Cuba and talks about the nomination of one of them for an award.

Likewise, the message's text reflects the contradictions between these groups and the people who lead them.

The news segment provided evidence of the U.S. government financing of those trying to provoke a social explosion in the Caribbean island.

In this regard, it emphasized that CADAL  receives money from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), which in turn obtains most of its funds from the U.S. Congress.

In addition, in 2014 Gabriel Constancio was linked to plans to sabotage the II Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), held in Havana.
