Camaguey, July 8 (RHC) - In Eastern Camaguey province, Puerto Rican Independence leader Nestor Nazario praised the historic bonds of friendship between his nation and Cuba.

Nazario, who is a staff member of the Hostosiano National Independence Movement, said there are no two nations in the world as similar as Cuba and Puerto Rico, and they share bonds of friendship that date back to the struggle against Spanish colonial rule.

Nazario said that his movement is promoting a larger number of Puerto Rican visitors to Cuba so that they corroborate the island’s achievements in education, culture, health care and other areas. He added that traveling to Cuba is also a way to break the U.S. blockade of Cuba, because Puerto Rico is a U.S. colony and its citizens are subject to laws banning trips to Cuba.

Nazario is heading a 45-member delegation that has toured places of social and cultural interest on the island, such as the Che Guevara Memorial in Santa Clara and they will conclude their trip in eastern Santiago de Cuba.
