Havana, December 7 (RHC)-- A new shipment of 50 containers of food left for Cuba in support of the fight against the covid-19 pandemic in Caribbean island, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples announced.

According to the organization, the solidarity shipment is the third sent by the Central American nation this year and contains rice, beans, and coffee products.

The ship Augusto César Sandino departed from Port Arlen Siu, Nicaragua's main access route to international markets in the Caribbean and the East Coast of the United States.

The cargo was donated by the Sandinista National Liberation Front (FSLN) government to provide humanitarian aid to the Cuban people, also affected by the cruel and inhumane measures that are part of the economic, commercial, and financial siege imposed by the US.

Last September and October, Cuba received several tons of food from Nicaragua. Both shipments represented the brotherhood between both nations, united by ancient bonds of struggle.
