Lisbon, January 3 (RHC)-- The Portugal-Cuba Friendship Association  highlighted the 63rd anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution, which it described as a "memorable achievement for humanity."

In a statement, the group said that the conquest of the Cubans on January 1, 1959, has been inspiring for all those who fight for the freedom of peoples, for the right to their sovereignty, and for each people to choose their destiny.

He pointed out that the pandemic affects all humanity and has exposed its true face of capitalism, lack of humanism, hypocrisy, and arrogance.

"Under the pretext of the pandemic crisis, workers throughout the Western world were deprived of their fundamental rights. Cuba, on the contrary, set the example of not leaving its people defenseless," he stressed.

He praised the constant example of extraordinary combativeness of the Cuban people, in defense of their homeland and Revolution, and their tenacity, "despite the worsening of the criminal U.S. blockade, the economic war, terrorist actions sponsored by the U.S. empire."

"The Revolution resists, develops and guarantees the important social achievements reached by the country throughout these decades, constituting an example of Democracy," sentenced the Portuguese association.
