Havana, Jun 28 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez on Tuesday sent his deepest condolences to relatives of the 50 migrants found dead in an abandoned trailer in San Antonio, Texas.

On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister posted that their painful death shows the repressive, discriminatory, and exclusionary behavior against migrants.

The Cuban Foreign Minister also wished speedy recovery for the injured, while the Director-General of Consular Affairs and Cuban Residents Abroad at the Foreign Ministry, Ernesto Soberón, conveyed his deepest condolences and insisted on the significance of cooperating and comprehensively dealing with migration causes.

On Monday, US authorities announced 46 people were found dead in an abandoned trailer and explained that 16 other people were hospitalized, 12 adults and four children.

Initial reports indicated the victims died of extremely high temperatures.

“The 46 people were warm to the touch; (…) there were no signs of water in the trailer or visible air conditioning system inside, “an official said.

The San Antonio Fire Department explained the victims suffered injuries such as heat stroke and exhaustion.
